Esscenia is a naturally processed Brazilian coffee sourced through our partners at Ocafi, a collective dedicated to transparent and sustainable sourcing. This coffee reflects a strong connection to the land and the people behind it. Ocafi’s work focuses on building long-term relationships with local farmers, and investing in community. 

In the northern highlands of Peru, where Cajamarca and Amazonas meet, Café Selva Norte is redefining what coffee can mean for people and place. Founded in 2018 as the first initiative of the Urapi Fund, the project brings together thousands of smallholder producers with a shared vision: to restore ecosystems, strengthen livelihoods, and build long-term resilience through coffee. Working alongside ten cooperatives, Café Selva Norte supports farm renovation, agroforestry systems, and education through its Farm School, where over a million coffee seedlings and thousands of forest plants are grown each year to regenerate degraded land and protect biodiversity.

Today, more than 3,000 producers across Cajamarca, Amazonas, and San Martín contribute coffees grown among shade trees and selectively harvested at peak ripeness. Carefully washed and dried on raised beds, each lot reflects both Peru’s diverse varieties — including Catimor, Caturra, Typica, and Bourbon — and a deeper commitment to community-led sustainability. Every cup carries the character of Peru’s highlands and the story of a region shaping its future through coffee.
